Semi-Classical

The Kathak examination course of the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal⁠ is structured in the following levels:

Akhil Gandharva Mahavidyalaya

Prarambhik (Beginner) > Praveshika Pratham > Praveshika Purna > Madhyama Pratham > Madhyama Purna > Visharad Pratham > Visharad Purna

After completing these, students can pursue higher qualifications:

Alankar Pratham > Alankar Purna > Sangeetacharya (Research/Doctoral level)

These examinations assess both Practical (Tatkar, Tode, Tukde, Paran, Gat Nikas, Gat Bhav, Abhinaya, etc.) and Theory (History of Kathak, Tala, Laya, Terminology, Gharanas, Biographies, and related topics) according to the syllabus for each level.
